2SER has a
studio based at North Ryde, located within the leafy green Macquarie University
campus.
With huge windows, fresh air and up to date technology, our North
Ryde studio is the ideal place to make radio.
Not only do we cater to city community members, the North Ryde studio offers a
great opportunity for those living in the North West region to get involved in
a community radio station that broadcasts all over Sydney, a rare opportunity
for those living outside of the city-centre.
We are currently looking for volunteer program makers at our Macquarie
studios. We have a live to air studio that broadcasts programming, and we are committed
to training and supporting volunteers to work on stories and segments for radio
shows.
We are closely connected with the Macquarie University Media Department radio courses. Third year radio students participate in an Internship program at the station. And second year students produce a week of half hour features in October.
Our studio
facilities include Audio Digital Editing Software (Adobe Audition 1.0),
research computers, portable Mini Disk players for reporters and a diverse CD
Library.
The studio is available around the clock to 2SER registered volunteers with
security access. We are always looking for people to be involved in and produce
radio at such a wonderful and valuable resource.
If you're interested, please feel free to contact the studio producer for more
information. Shamin Fernando is the part time talks coordinator that oversees
the functioning of the studio. Her hours are: Monday 11-6pm, Tuesday 11-6pm,
Wed 11-5pm.
