The Rise Of Australia's Daily Alcohol Toll

The VicHealth and Foundation for Alcohol Research and Education released the "Alcohol's Burden of Disease in Australia" report last week, which has shown that in the past decade there has been a 62% increase in alcohol-related hospitalisations and deaths in Australia, with figures as high as 15 deaths and 430 hospitalisations a day.

To help explain how this huge increase has come about we spoke to Professor Steve Allsop, Director of the National Drug Research Institute at Curtin University.
