Have you ever heard of Catalonia? If you've ever travelled to Barcelona, chances are that you've seen the red and yellow striped flags hanging from windows around the city. But what you may not know is that this is a protest.
Catalonia is an autonomous community in Spain. They currently govern themselves, but are have been fighting for independence for years. Just last week around five-hundred-and-fifty-thousand people took part in a rally calling for independence, but Spain is holding tight to their control.
So why isn't Catalonia its own country?
