All Kinds of Country
Saturday 5:00am - 8:00am
ALL KINDS OF COUNTRY is 2ser FM’S flagship country music program that is heard on Saturday mornings between 5am til 8am. Hosted by Barbara Morison with the assistance of Bob Plummer is a program that is topical, innovative and where it's at when it comes to Country Music.
Country Music has always been an integral part of 2SER-FM right back to its first days of broadcasting and has gone through many changes, broadcasters and timeslots over years. One of the evergreens and stalwarts that has stayed and progressed throughout most of this has been Barbara Morison.
Barbara Morison is one of the longest running country music broadcasters in Australia and after 25 years, is still going strong with her current radio program ALL KINDS OF COUNTRY on Saturday mornings. ALL KINDS OF COUNTRY presents a smorgasbord of country music ranging from traditional, bluegrass and contemporary country to bush ballads. Barbara covers independent and commercial country releases from both local and overseas artists that ensures everyone's tastes are well and truly covered. And with radio station 2SER-FM the only community radio station covering the metropolitan and surrounding areas of Sydney, it gives the program a broad based audience.
In 1997, Barbara Morison was one of the inaugural inductees into the Australian Country Music Foundation’s Broadcasters’ Hall of Fame for her significant contribution to Australian Country Music as a specialist country music broadcaster. Barbara is well respected in her field and has participated in judging numerous awards such as the Country Music Association (CMAA) Awards, Mo Awards, Australian Record Industry Association (ARIA) Awards, Tamworth Songwriters Association (TSA) Awards and the Golden Gum Leaf Bush Poets Awards as well as many various country music talent quests.
Over the past 25 years, Barbara Morison has interviewed a wide selection of entertainers, musicians, and industry identities. Some of today’s big names in Country Music can credit Barbara Morison for giving them their first airplay in Sydney and encouraging them to pursue their dreams, career and music. While the pioneers of the country music industry appreciate the wisdom and respect that she dutifully has for preserving the history of the music.
It’s always been Barbara’s integrity, passion and knowledge for the music (or maybe it’s the wee early hours) that makes for interesting interviews’ and information being given from those that talk to her. It’s also the support and encouragement from a collection of people including her family, friends and industry that has kept her going and getting out of bed in the early hours.
Barbara Morison’s one intention from the beginning has always been to inform educate, promote and entertain people on all aspects of Country Music. Not only to appreciate today’s sounds of country music but to understand its history both locally and overseas. To showcase its depth, variety and styles, a music genre that certainly has grown to be appreciated by many a task that 2SER-FM and Barbara Morison has strived to achieve for the past 25 years.
So congratulations to 2SER-FM and Barbara Morison who have both played a significant role in the development and promotion of country music across Sydney’s Metropolitan on 107.3 FM.!!
