Topics cover the day-to-day of business activities – sales, sponsorship, supply chains, or tackle bigger picture themes: happiness at work, seed funding start ups, the karma of brands, even doing business in an international disaster zones, the changing face of the news business, or endlessly enthralling, the business of shopping. Kirsten Lees

Kirsten Lees became a business journalist to satisfy an endless fascination in everybody else’s business. Having had a successful business career herself in media and management consultancy, she thought it was about time to find out how other people did it, and why. Armed with a Sloan Fellowship from London Business School (where she learned, among other things that balance sheet and work-life balance are not connected, that marketing and markets were completely different topics and that in business, it’s not always what you know, it’s what people think you know, that counts), she has been asking questions ever since. Kirsten has freelanced in Australia for News Limited and Fairfax including the Entrepreneur, in The Australian, The Weekend Australian’s business and industry sections and AFR Boss Magazine, among others. Kirsten is also the author of two books, Votes for Women, the Australian Story, (Allen & Unwin), Let go of my leg, how to get the working life you want after children, (Pearson), the UK edition of which has been translated into five languages and sold globally.
