PayPal froze its Wikileaks account based on the US government’s stance –other companies such as Mastercard and Visa  did the same.

In response to this, in what has been termed as a type of vigilante cyber warfare - groups have conducted ‘distributed denial of service’ or DDoS attacks against PayPal, Mastercard and Visa – using low orbit ion cannons to overload websites with requests from individual computers.

Wendy speaks to “Anon”, a US based person who has been involved in waging regular DDoS attacks – is he a cyber attacker? Or a freedom of information fighter? Is he a hacktivist?  How does he conduct these attacks and why?

Wendy Collis

You would never guess it from the true blue way she talks but Wendy burnt her ugg boots and left En Zed in 2001, purely to spite the notion that kiwis who emigrate to Oz raise the IQ of both countries. Tune in to The Daily for good topical chat and great bustin' music, served up in time for brunch! thursdaydaily@2ser.com
