We were really sad to hear of Mark Linkous from Sparklehorse's passing over the weekend. Mark's provided us with some of the most beguiling and beautiful songs as one of the American underground's most tender spirits. Anyone who saw them play here in Sydney a decade back would know just how great a band Sparklehorse were firsthand. RIP Mark Linkous.

2ser 107.3 has won 2 awards at this year's CBAA conference: the Excellence in Spoken Word, News and Current Affairs Programming award was picked up by Final Draft and the award for Contribution to Local Music was won by We Come From Garageland. Congratulations to these two shows for their valiant efforts, and to all the winners at this year's awards.
