The third studio record from the hotly-tipped London art-punks further refines their niche sound of finger-plucked no-wave and abstracted, collaged lyrics from Florence Shaw is out this week on Remote Control Records.
The second solo album from Jack Spencer (who also plays in Cat Scratch with Dylan Young/Way Dynamic has just released on BDK records, and is a real treat of lo-fidelity folk and pop.
Vintage instruments and recording are on full display on this blissful new album from Chicago-based jazz fusionists Andy Baxter and Francesca Uberti. Skipping between cinematic jazz and ambient pieces, this is their sixth studio album together, and is a tribute to electronic instruments from the mid-20th century.
The cult South London collective have just released their sixteenth studio record, and true to form, it’s a gorgeously composed collection of gospel, funk, jazz and disco. Also pressed on vinyl through the Forever Living Originals label.
Sunday Mourners are an emerging group through the Los Angeles garage rock scene and their debut album is a treasure trove of raw, pulsing art-rock and It features raw and pulsing post-punk and art-rock. Will be right up your alley if you’re a fan of the likes of Wire and The Feelies.
The fourth album from Half Cow Records’ in-house covers band Neo-Magics is due at the end of the month, and they’ve teased what’s in store by with a smouldering garage cover of Technotronic.
