Can Bees Help us Talk to Aliens?

Is there other life out there in the universe? Will we ever meet them? And how would we communicate with them even if we did?
These are the questions science fiction movies have been asking for years. And now academics think they might have some answers to the question of how we could talk to aliens if they do exist. Scarlett Howard Research Fellow at Monash University has helped write a new academic paper arguing that the answer to finding a language that goes beyond our world could lie in… bees. Through testing the ability of bees to solve simple maths equations the team found that there may be a way to use maths as a universal language. Scarlett Howard joins Nelson to discuss her findings and its implications.
