Flickerfest 2026 at Bondi Pavilion
It’s the 35th year of the International Short Film Festival Flickerfest, and it’s a big one!
Showcasing around 200 exceptional shorts from Australia and around the world, who will win the ‘Best Australian Short Film’, ‘Best Documentary’, ‘Best International Short Film’ and ‘Best International Animation’?
The 2026 programme is now live and showcases exceptional shorts across 23 dedicated festival programmes, handpicked from a record-breaking 3,700+ entries from over 100 countries. Flickerfest’s prestigious Academy® Qualifying Competitions of 111 short films, include 42 World Premieres, 41 Australian premieres and 19 NSW premieres, giving audiences a first look at the most outstanding short films on offer.
It’s on a the Bondi Pavilion from the 23rd January till 1st February. Flickerfest festival director, Bronwyn Kidd joined Danny Chifley on 2SER Breakfast.
