Songsmiths – a new space for d/Deaf and disabled artists to collaborate

Resulting from an extensive disability-led co-design process, the Songsmiths program provides a new collective space for d/Deaf and disabled artists to collaborate and create music, with a focus on self-determination, mentorship and creative access.
Songsmiths is an initiative of Accessible Arts, the peak arts and disability organisation in New South Wales, advancing the rights of, and opportunities for, people with disability or who are d/Deaf to develop and sustain professional careers in the arts and have equitable access to arts and culture. Songsmiths will take place both in person and online and will cover every stage in the creation, recording and releasing of a song.
Project Manager Dan Pash joined Danny on 2SER Breakfast to discuss this excellent initiative, forging new paths for d/Deaf and disabled artists.
Expressions of Interest are now open, closing Sunday 8 February 2026.
