Yarra Council unanimous on Australia Day changes

The date of Australia Day has made massive headlines throughout this year, with a strong push to change the date and how we celebrate the day.

For many Indigenous Australians, it is not a day of celebration but one of mourning.

The Council of Yarra recognises this and last night met to debate how they will alter their activities on the day. A motion was passed unanimously to change this from 2018 onwards.

We spoke to Yarra Councillor Misha Coleman about their plans moving forward.
