AFLW popular, but not supported: research

Recent studies from the University of South Australia found the media, sponsors, funding bodies and marketers make it very difficult for AFL sportswomen to get exposure and financial backing.

The research indicated the support for the AFLW remains low, meaning fewer opportunities to showcase the sport and further engage the public.

There’s been close to 800% increase in women playing AFL, but some men still don’t consider women playing sport seriously.
