AI and Vocal Performances in Cinema

AI chatbots were a key concern of the 2023 Writers’ Strike in America. Interestingly, a different aspect of AI has been used in two 2025 Oscar nominated films: The Brutalist and Emilia Perez, to improve Adrien Brody’s accent and Karla Sofia Gascon’s singing voice. So what does this mean for the future of vocal performances?
