Ancient Indigenous aquaculture site Budj Bim added to UNESCO World Heritage list

A south-west Victorian Indigenous site, older than Stonehenge and the pyramids, has been added to the UNESCO World Heritage List after a seventeen year campaign.

The Daily’s Victor Petrovic spoke with Denis Rose, Gunditjmara elder and project manager of the Gunditj Mirring Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation, about the long journey for recognition for the Budj Bim aquaculture site, and what it means for the Gunditjmara people and surrounding region.
