ANSTO Research into Defeating Killer Cancer Stem Cells

The cure for cancer, it’s the holy grail of medical science. While such a thing may never be an exact possibility, ANSTO – Australia’s Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation, have been looking at a one-two punch treatment for various types of cancer, using particle accelerator technology with the aim of not only treating the initial bout of cancerous cells but minimising the possibility of a resurgence of the same cancer.

Sean Britten was joined by ANSTO’s lead researcher, Dr Mitra Safavi-Naeini to discuss their NCEPT treatment research.
