Are Independent Assessments a step backwards for NDIS?

Recently the NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) has been piloting independent assessments in efforts to make access fairer and more efficient. However many disability advocates say it’s a step backwards, labeling the current format of the assessments as dehumanising. 

Jarred Cross spoke to Chief Executive Officer from PDCN (Phyiscal Disability Council of NSW), Serena Ovens about these independent assessment pilots, and what these changes mean for people with a disability.
