Arrested: stopping rising prison rates

In a bid to reduce our overflowing prison population, the Baird government has announced that they will be implementing new performance measures for prisons across the state.

The new prison performance measures are aimed at reducing rates of reoffending are set to be announced by the Baird government.

The package will include what’s known as “justice reinvestment”, a new high tech and holistic approach for a prisoner’s release plans. It aims to reduce the total prison population by 5% in just 4 years.
