Asbestos…The Silent Killer

Before the 1990s the majority of homes and buildings in Australia were constructed using Asbestos. The material was later found to be toxic causing life threatening diseases up to 50 years after exposure.  Despite the health risks tradespeople still lack adequate training in its handling, governments haven’t enforced national regulations and home shows lack in providing awareness when encouraging DIY renovations.
