Australians Aren’t Eating Enough Protein Rich Foods

Research conducted by the CSIRO has found that people with low-quality diets obtained eight times more of their protein intakes from unhealthy foods than people with high quality diets.

The majority of protein that people are consuming are coming from processed foods such as meat pies, chicken nuggets and ice-cream in a recent survey unlike the healthy participants who consume their protein from red meat, fish, chicken, eggs, milk, cereals, nuts and yogurt.

The CSIRO Principal Research Scientist Professor Manny Noakes joined us to discuss this issue. And for more information you can access the Total Wellbeing website.
