Australia’s Home-schooling on the Rise

Home-schooling is an alternative method to education in all Australian states and territories. Permission is required from a state or territory authority for a parent or registered educator to begin teaching within the home. Currently in Australia, there is an increase in the number of parents selecting the home-schooling route, but why is this the case? And what effect does this have on the child? Dr Rebecca English, Lecturer in Education at Queensland University of Technology, discussed this issue with us.
