We’re told as children not to do it, but swearing has inevitably become part of many Australian’s vocabulary.

Despite being a common practice, 1610 Aussies copped fines of $500 over the past year for doing it.

UTS academic in criminal law and offensive language Elyse Methven thinks it’s high time Australia’s laws caught up with our loose lips.
