Border Force Turning Away Asylum Seekers at the Airport

Last week, ABC’s Four Corners reported on two Saudi women being turned away at Sydney Airport by Border Force officials after informing them they intended to seek asylum.

The situation has raised concerns about just how often Border Force officials are blocking asylum seekers, and whether they are being held accountable for over-stepping their role.

To discuss asylum seekers being turned away at Australian airports, The Daily‘s Victor Petrovic was joined by Dr Daniel Ghezelbash, Senior Lecturer in Human Rights and Administrative Law at Macquarie University.

You can read Dr Ghezelbash’s writing on the subject at The Conversation.
