Children of Divorce: What Can We Learn From the Animal Kingdom? – 3MT

Relationship breakups and divorce are normally categorised exclusively as a human experience. But what about your pet dog, the birds in the sky or lions in the wild? We all know about how separation between parents can have a drastic impact on a child’s development, but can the same be said about species other than us? Recently we heard from the Macquarie University winner of the 3 Minute Thesis competition Frigg Speelman and how the impact of divorce or separation of parents can cause multi-generational effects on their offspring in the wild.
