China Finally Releases Liu Xiaobo

Liu Xiaobo, China’s jailed Nobel Peace Prize laureate, has granted parole to be treated for his terminal liver cancer on Tuesday. Mr. Liu’s supporters and human rights groups call for him to be admonished of his charges.

But why was the most prominent pro-democracy figure jailed and how will China’s newly found openness affect it’s human rights policy?
