Clean Energy Subsidies For Coal-Fired Power Stations

This week, Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull suggested that clean energy subsidies could be used to help build new-generation, coal-fired power stations, citing the importance of “security and cost” in Australia’s national energy policy, rather than worrying about how that energy is delivered. Unsurprisingly, this has proved an unpopular policy with numerous envrionmental groups. Adrian chatted with Chris Dunstan, Research Director for Sustainable Futures at the University of Technology Sydney, about the future implications of this policy shift.
