A new Productivity Commission report says tackling climate change is now crucial to Australia’s long-term economic prosperity.

The report warns climate damage is already hindering productivity, with repeated floods, marine heatwaves and extreme weather affecting farming, tourism and small businesses.

With renewables now supplying 43% of Australia’s electricity, speeding up the shift to clean energy could lower power bills, attract investment and grow the economy.
