Crypto-currencies January Controversies

Crypto-currencies haven’t had a great start to 2018, as the online currency faced controversy from several organisations over the past month. Facebook has banned advertising bitcoin trading ads, South Korea considered banning citizens from engaging in crypto-trades, important people in the business industry have spoken out against them, and half a billion dollars worth has been robbed from an online trader.

Kevin Suarez explored whether the opposition from these groups was pragmatic or part of a growing backlash. He was joined by Senior Lecturer of UTS’ Finance Disipline Group, Adrian Lee.
