Digital Exclusion a Significant Concern for Disadvantaged Students

Digital exclusion continues to be a growing concern for Australian school students, with a recent study finding one in two lower-income families say their children could miss out on the devices needed for school because they’re unable to afford them.

The report, done by KPMG on behalf of not-for-profit organisation WorkVentures,  indicates a substantial challenge for students without computer access, with 84% facing difficulties in completing class work and assignments.

Ahead of the new school year, WorkVentures is calling for the introduction of a National Device Bank to give less fortunate students access to vital educational technology.
