Disability Initiative Gig Buddies Launches on Central Coast

 Socialising and going to events can be a challenge at the best of times, but for those with a learning disability it’s a slightly tougher challenge. Thankfully one organisation is making things a little easier, Gig Buddies is an initiative based in McMahons Point that pairs those aged 18 and over with a learning disability with someone that has similar interests to go to events with. In April the initiative expanded outside of Sydney and launched on the Central Coast. So how does Gig Buddies work exactly? The Daily spoke with Central Coast project co-ordinator Matthew Collins to get more information about the project.
