Drugs don’t work if you don’t take them

Have you ever forgotten to take your pills, or felt better and decided you didn’t need to continue your course?

You’re not alone.  Fifty percent of Australians with chronic conditions don’t take their pills as prescribed.

It’s an issue that causes 125,000 preventable deaths per year, and costs the healthcare system an estimated $7billion.

Elyssa Wiecek and Rachelle Cutler are PhD candidates at the Graduate School of Health at the University of Technology Sydney.

They have a plan to get us to take our drugs.
