The Effect of Financial Stress

It’s only natural that if you’re facing money troubles to get a little bit overwhelmed at times. However, new research by micro-investing app Acorns shows that financial pressure is a direct cause of mental health issues and substance abuse. The research released today, shows that nearly 32 per cent of Australians aged between 25 and 44 have abused alcohol due to financial worries, while one in 20 percent have turned to drugs or illicit substances.
