In the 80s and 90s, it was all about ‘wanting my MTV’ with a fascinating account of music videos, from their beginnings on MTV in the 1980s to their evolution to online platforms like YouTube now. Now that everything has moved online and MTV is a shadow of its former self, what has this done to the very idea of the music video? Dr Catherine Strong, Lecturer in the Music Industry at RMIT joined us on the show to explain not only why the music video isn’t dead, but how it’s evolving.
