The Expressionists are in the holiday spirit!

Christmas has come early – or at least just around the corner – as the Expressionists share some of their favourite Christmas-related idioms! Among them are “silly season”, “the proof of the pudding is in the eating” and “talking cold turkey” which all have interesting back stories.

For example, did you know that the “silly season” doesn’t, in fact, refer to the rush of the Christmas season, but rather “the slow news period in late summer when media tends to cover trivial material”?
