Federal Budget 2018: Indigenous Affairs

What is in this year’s budget for Indigenous Australians and Torres Straight Islanders? The Government will extend the cashless welfare debit card trial in part of South Australia and Western Australia, but on the positive side money is being invested in remote community housing and Indigenous health, as well as the creation of a new fund calledAboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Land and Sea Future Fund that will help buy land on the behalf of Indigenous land corporations who have had their native title claims extinguished.
