First Nations women more likely have brain injuries after assault: research

First Nations women face many challenges in access to health, education and community services.

A new research found out First Nations women are more likely to face barriers accessing adequate care in remote communities, after experiencing a head or brain injury.

These barriers include a lack of dedicated resources and specialist staff to provide immediate and long term care for head injuries in remote communities.

If you, or someone you know is experiencing family or domestic violence, help is always available. Call 1800 RESPECT.
