Gambling and Sport Betting

The growth of Australia’s sport’s betting market has been extensive, with gambling reaching a total of $7.2 billion during 2014-15. Gambling undoubtedly adds income to sports, with many sporting codes associated in business partnerships which major betting companies, such as Lotto land.
Gambling has brought in many fans to a number of sports, but when it becomes compromised by fraud or corruption within a respective sporting code, the integrity of the sport can come under scrutiny. Myles Houlbrook-Walk joined Associate Professor of Sports Management Daryl Adair from the University of Technology Sydney, to discuss more about this issue.
