Genocide in the Wildflower State

Genocide in the Wildflower State is a documentary film that exposes the devastating impact of Western Australia’s policies of forced child removal and assimilation, rooted in eugenics and aimed at creating a “White Australia.” Survivors share harrowing testimonies of life in missions and institutions that operated as concentration camps for Aboriginal children.
The film is produced by Yokai – Healing Our Spirit, The West Australian Stolen Generations Aboriginal Corporation, an Indigenous, not-for-profit, community-based organisation that represents and supports Stolen Generation survivors and educates the broader community and has been nominated in Media and Creative Industries category for the Australian Human Rights Awards, the nation’s premier event for recognising outstanding contributions to human rights.
It was an honour and pleasure for 2SER Breakfast to welcome Executive Producers Jim Morrison and Tony Hansen to the studios when they were in town for screenings and the awards ceremony.
If you weren’t lucky enough to catch a screening, it is available at SBS On Demand.
