Government plans to receive 19,000 refugees next year

The Federal government is looking to give 19,000 Temporary Protection Visa and Safe Haven Enterprise Visa holders the opportunity to apply for permanent residency in Australia.

This decision would be life changing for the current TPV and SHEV holders, bringing an end to years of anxiety and uncertainty.

Questions still remain about the Government’s slow process of officially implementing these changes and the fate of 12,000 asylum seekers looking for visa protection.
