Homophobia in the World Cup

Sport gives people a sense of community, and the FIFA World Cup is a great example of bringing together the international soccer community. However the sport is conspicuously absent of any out LGBTQ players. Is this indicative of a wider intolerance in the soccer community? 

2SER spoke with Erik Denison, Lead Researcher with the Sport Inclusion Project at Monash University, and lead author of the first international study on homophobia in sport.
