What influences attachment parents when vaccinating?

[Extended Interview]

For the majority of Australians, vaccinations are a no-brainer.

But for a small percentage of the population, there are still questions to be answered about the benefits and risks of getting a jab.

At the beginning of this year, the ‘No Jab No Pay’ legislation came into force, preventing parents from collecting a range of government benefits if there child isn’t fully vaccinated.

Is this scheme really going to catch all those who don’t vaccinate?

Jon Wardle is from the UTS Faculty of Health. He has been looking at the reasons why people do and don’t vaccinate. He has recently completed a pilot study looking at the decisions attachment parents in particular make. Jon speaks to Ellen Leabeater.
