Instagram’s Censorship of Pole Dancers

Since April, Instagram has been quietly censoring what it deems “sexually suggestive content”. It’s having a damaging effect on the pole dancing community, who say it’s limiting their ability to share their content and connect with each other. Over the past few months, nearly 19,000 people have signed a petition on Change.org to overturn the so-called “shadow ban”. While Instagram has apologised, many in the community say it doesn’t go far enough.
