CUAVA-1 Satellite Explores the New Frontier

Australia is paving the way to interspace tourism with CUAVA-1, special equipment onboard a Space-X Falcon 9 rocket to help our scientists with their research back here on earth with regards to commercial space exploration, including looking for life on our nearest solar system; Alpha Centauri. The equipment is 3kgs in weight and in 30cm cubes, this is Australia’s first satellite and it will be up in space gathering data for 12 months. It will be launching tomorrow evening from Kennedy Space Centre in Florida.

We spoke to Professor Iver Cairns who teaches Space Physics at the University of Sydney and the Director of CUAVA.
