Just How Important Is Health Data?

Better access to health data could save $3 billion and improve the health of all Australians, according to a new report. The Digital Health Cooperative Research Centre has released a report calling for the government to provide researchers with efficient and ethical access to anonymised data. At the moment medical researchers have to spend thousands of dollars to access data, and wait years for the lengthy approval process to be completed. Dr Uma Srinivasan, the lead author of the report, joined us on The Daily to talk us through it.
