Labor would return Medicare funding

Opposition Leader Bill Shorten has announced a return to indexation for Medicare payments. This would effectively boost the amount GPs can get through Medicare. This announcement has been supported by doctors, who have criticised the government’s plans to extend the freeze on indexation, as a ‘co-payment’ by stealth.
