Landfill to Renewable Energy

Since it has been revealed that Australia is one of the largest contributors to food waste in the world and waste in general, many people at home and companies have started to make an effort to reduce waste. One company in particular has been working hard for over 40 years in reducing waste and turning it into renewable energy.

Last week, Veolia unveiled a new Mechanical Biological Treatment facility in Tarago, which is 240 km southwest of Sydney, which will receive approximately 144,000 tons household waste from a number of Sydney council and in hopes will change the way red lid bins are processed and divert away from landfill waste.
