Lifeguards Training with VR Equipment

Can virtual reality help lifeguards save lives? Research into the psychology of attention has informed new lifeguard training modules that use virtual reality simulations, to better detect drowning victims.

These simulations are being developed by Researchers at Macquarie University with YMCA NSW. Mark Wiggins is a Professor at the School of Psychological Sciences at Macquarie University and is the lead scientist on this project and he joined 2SER to discuss this new technology.
