Murujuga Cultural Landscape Granted UNESCO World Heritage Status

Last Friday, the Murujuga Cultural Landscape was granted World Heritage Status by UNESCO.

Located in the Pilbara region in WA’s north-west, Murujuga is an area of ancient Aboriginal rock art with more than 1 million petroglyphs, some of which date back 50,000 years.

A delegation from the Murujuga Aboriginal Corporation travelled to Paris ahead of the UNESCO decision.
