New study: air pollution in infancy linked to increased peanut allergy

A new study from the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute and University of Melbourne found that higher levels of air pollution during infancy are linked to an increased risk of developing peanut allergies, the allergies can last throughout childhood.

This research is the first to use oral food challenges to examine this connection, suggesting that improving air quality could help reduce peanut allergy rates.
