No Butts About It: Recycling cigarette butts

1.2 million tonnes of cigarette butt waste are thrown on roads every year, but it could be used to MAKE roads instead! A research team from RMIT University has found that asphalt mixed with cigarette butts can not only handle heavy traffic, but also reduce thermal conductivity.

Dr Abbas Mohajerani from RMIT’s School of Engineering joined Jess to explain it all.
